Position Overview

Our National Security Sector is looking for highly qualified translators and interpreters capable of handling a wide range of linguistic activities in support of sensitive operations.

Required Languages

• Bambara
• French

Key Responsibilities

Translation 📝

• Accurately translate reports and texts in electronic and hardcopy formats, capturing facts, implications, and nuances.
• Understand regional, geopolitical, ethnic, and cultural elements; ensure language adheres to target language norms and specific subject field expressions.

Interpretation 🎙️

• Perform accurate consecutive interpretation; occasional simultaneous interpretation may be required.
• Possess a good understanding of regional dialects.

Transcription 🗣️

• Review audio or internet materials and transcribe with high accuracy and clarity.
• Demonstrate excellent English written communication skills for report preparation.
• Understanding of regional dialects is essential.

Gisting & Summarizing 🔍

• Identify and summarize factual and abstract information effectively.
• Prioritize pertinent and nuanced data through efficient document triage.
• Utilize reference materials and internet research tools proficiently.
• Excellent English verbal communication skills for briefings are required.

Security Clearance & Training

• Participation in sponsor-required training is mandatory.
• No clearance needed to apply; after testing, sponsorship and clearance upgrades will be provided.
• Must obtain and maintain TS/SCI clearance with polygraph to commence work.

Educational & Experience Requirements 🎓

• BA degree + 4 years relevant experience, or
• Master’s degree + 2 years relevant experience.
• Additional experience can substitute for a degree.

Language Testing

All candidates must pass language assessments conducted by Leidos or approved vendors.

Desired Skills 🌟

• Experience supporting contingency operations as a linguist.
• Familiarity with U.S. Intelligence, military, cryptologic, or law enforcement environments.
• Effective verbal and written communication in Target language and English.
• Multilingual proficiency is highly valued.

Travel & Residency Guidelines ✈️

Travel OCONUS is mandatory; candidates must support the contract 24/7 during travel periods.

Compensation 💰

Pay Range: $72,150.00 - $130,425.00
