Job Description

We are seeking experienced translators capable of handling a wide range of language activities with professionalism and precision. This role involves translating, interpreting, transcribing, and summarizing sensitive materials to support national security missions.

Key Responsibilities

Translation 📝

• Accurately translate reports and texts in both electronic and hardcopy formats, capturing nuanced language, implications, and abstract concepts.
• Incorporate geopolitical, regional, ethnic, and cultural elements into translations, adhering to target language norms and subject-specific expressions.

Interpretation 🎙️

• Provide accurate consecutive interpretation; rare simultaneous interpretation may be requested.
• Demonstrate proficiency in regional dialects for effective communication.

Transcription 🎧

• Review audio and internet materials to produce highly accurate transcripts with proper expression.
• Possess excellent written English communication skills for report preparation.
• Understand regional dialects to ensure precise transcription.

Gisting & Summarizing 📋

• Identify and summarize factual and abstract points accurately.
• Effectively triage documentation to highlight pertinent and nuanced information.
• Utilize reference materials and possess strong computer skills (MS Office, basic Web research).
• Excellent verbal English communication skills for briefings are essential.

Security Clearance & Training Requirements 🔐

• Complete all sponsor-required training programs.
• No clearance needed to apply; sponsorship and clearance upgrade provided after passing required tests.
• TS/SCI clearance with polygraph is required before starting work.

Educational & Experience Requirements 🎓

• BA degree with 4 years of relevant experience OR an advanced degree (Masters) with 2 years of relevant experience.
• Additional relevant experience can substitute for formal education.

Language Testing 📝

All candidates must successfully pass language assessments administered by Leidos or an approved vendor.

Desired Skills ⭐

• Experience supporting contingency operations as a deployed linguist.
• Knowledge of U.S. Intelligence Community, military, cryptologic, or law enforcement environments.
• Strong communication skills in both target languages and English.
• Multilingual proficiency is highly desired.

Residence & Travel Guidelines 🌍

Travel OCONUS is mandatory unless specified otherwise. Candidates must be available to support contract operations 24/7 during travel.

Compensation 💰

Pay Range: $72,150.00 – $130,425.00
