Accounting Consultant

Responsibilities

• Record transactions, prepare trial balances, and generate financial statements using accounting software 🧾
• Reconcile accounts and perform schedule computations (e.g., accruals, depreciation) 🔄
• Maintain the general ledger and process accounts receivable/accounts payable (AR/AP) 💼
• Prepare group consolidation packages and coordinate with tax return preparers 🗂️
• Perform audit and review procedures as assigned 🔍
• Prepare payroll, sales tax, business licenses, personal property tax, and 1099 filings 🧾
• Assist with SOX/JSOX compliance and reporting to Japanese headquarters 🇯🇵
• Support internal and external audit engagements 📝
• May supervise staff accountants and assist in planning and scheduling engagements 👥
• Ensure timely entry of time and expenses to support billing processes ⏱️

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field 🎓
• Minimum of 4 years of experience in public accounting 💼
• Current and valid CPA license, or working toward licensure by passing the applicable state CPA exam 📝
• Willingness and ability to travel to client locations ✈️
• Thorough knowledge of GAAP, U.S. GAAS, and PCAOB standards 📚
• Strong Japanese proficiency—both written and verbal—to effectively communicate with Japanese clients and colleagues 🗣️

Additional Details

💰 The hourly rate ranges from $40.86 to $47.12, and eligible employees may receive overtime at time and a half.
