Key Responsibilities

• Record transactions, prepare trial balances, and generate financial statements using accounting software 💻
• Reconcile accounts and perform schedule computations (e.g., accruals, depreciation) 🔄
• Maintain general ledger and process accounts receivable/payable 🧾
• Prepare group consolidation packages and coordinate with tax return preparers 📁
• Perform audit and review procedures as assigned ✅
• Prepare payroll, sales tax, business license, personal property tax, and 1099 filings 📝
• Assist with SOX/JSOX compliance and reporting to Japanese headquarters 🌏
• Support internal and external audit engagements 🕵️‍♂️
• Supervise staff accountants and help in planning and scheduling engagements 👥
• Ensure timely entry of time and expenses to support billing processes ⏱️

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field 🎓
• Minimum of 4 years of experience in public accounting 🏢
• Current and valid CPA license or working towards obtaining it 📜
• Ability to travel to client locations ✈️
• Thorough knowledge of GAAP, GAAS, and PCAOB standards 📚
• Strong Japanese proficiency — written and verbal — to serve Japanese clients, including expatriates and local colleagues 🇯🇵

Compensation & Benefits

The position offers an hourly rate of $40.86 - $47.12, with eligibility for overtime at time and a half. 🕒
