Responsibilities

• Record transactions, prepare trial balances, and generate financial statements using accounting software 🖥️
• Reconcile accounts and perform schedule computations (e.g., accruals, depreciation) 📊
• Maintain the general ledger and process accounts receivable/payable 🌐
• Prepare group consolidation packages and coordinate with tax return preparers
• Perform audit and review procedures as assigned 🕵️‍♂️
• Prepare payroll, sales tax, business license, personal property tax, and 1099 filings
• Assist with SOX/JSOX compliance and reporting to Japanese headquarters
• Support internal and external audit engagements 🧾
• May supervise staff accountants and assist in planning and scheduling engagements
• Ensure timely entry of time and expenses to support billing processes ⏱️

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field 🎓
• Minimum of 4 years of experience in public accounting
• Current and valid CPA license, or actively working towards obtaining it by passing the relevant state CPA exam ✅
• Ability to travel to client locations as needed 🚗
• Thorough knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), U.S. auditing standards, and PCAOB requirements 📚
• Strong Japanese language skills, both written and verbal, to effectively communicate with Japanese clients, expats, and colleagues 🗣️

Compensation & Benefits

Hourly rate ranges from $40.86 to $47.12, with eligibility for overtime at time and a half. 💵
