🔍 Responsibilities
- Record transactions, prepare trial balances, and generate financial statements using accounting software
- Reconcile accounts and perform schedule computations (e.g., accruals, depreciation)
- Maintain the general ledger and process Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable
- Prepare group consolidation packages and coordinate with tax return preparers
- Perform audit and review procedures as assigned
- Prepare payroll, sales tax, business license, personal property tax, and 1099 filings
- Assist with SOX/JSOX compliance and reporting to Japanese headquarters
- Support internal and external audit engagements
- Potentially supervise staff accountants and assist in planning and scheduling engagements
- Ensure timely entry of time and expenses to support billing processes
🎓 Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in public accounting
- Current and valid CPA license or working toward obtaining it by passing the applicable state CPA exam
- Willingness and ability to travel to client locations
- Thorough knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) in the United States
- Understanding of United States Generally Accepted Auditing Standards (GAAS) and Public Company Accounting Oversight Board (PCAOB) standards
- Strong Japanese language skills—both written and verbal—to effectively communicate with Japanese clients, expatriates, and colleagues
💰 Compensation & Benefits
This role offers a rate of $40.86 - $47.12 per hour, with eligibility for overtime at time-and-a-half of the hourly rate.
