Responsibilities

• 🧾 Record transactions, prepare trial balances, and generate financial statements using accounting software
• 🔄 Reconcile accounts and perform schedule computations (e.g., accruals, depreciation)
• 🏦 Maintain general ledger and process accounts receivable/payable
• 📦 Prepare group consolidation packages and coordinate with tax return preparers
• 🔍 Perform audit and review procedures as assigned
• 💼 Prepare payroll, sales tax, business license, personal property tax, and 1099 filings
• 🛡 Support SOX/JSOX compliance and reporting to Japanese headquarters
• 🤝 Support internal and external audit engagements
• 🧑‍💼 May supervise staff accountants and assist in planning and scheduling engagements
• ⏱ Ensure timely entry of time and expenses to support billing processes

Qualifications

• 🎓 Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field
• 🧮 Minimum of 4 years of experience in public accounting
• ✅ Current and valid CPA license, or actively working toward licensure by passing the applicable state CPA exam
• 🌍 Ability to travel to client locations as required
• 📘 Thorough knowledge of GAAP, GAAS, and PCAOB standards
• 🈳 Strong Japanese proficiency (written and verbal) to effectively communicate with Japanese clients, including expats and local staff

Compensation & Benefits

Hourly rate: $40.86 - $47.12 per hour, eligible for overtime at time and a half. 💰
