Responsibilities

• Record transactions, prepare trial balances, and generate financial statements using accounting software 🧾
• Reconcile accounts and perform schedule computations (e.g., accruals, depreciation) 🔍
• Maintain general ledger and process accounts receivable/payable (AR/AP) ✍️
• Prepare group consolidation packages and coordinate with tax return preparers 📊
• Perform audit and review procedures as assigned ✅
• Prepare payroll, sales tax, business licenses, personal property tax, and 1099 filings 💼
• Assist with SOX/JSOX compliance and reporting to Japanese headquarters 🏢
• Support internal and external audit engagements 🤝
• May supervise staff accountants and assist in planning/scheduling engagements 👥
• Ensure timely entry of time and expenses to support billing processes ⏱️

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field 🎓
• Minimum of 4 years of experience in public accounting 🏢
• Current and valid CPA license, or actively working towards obtaining one (passing the applicable state CPA exam) 📄
• Ability to travel to assigned client locations ✈️
• Thorough knowledge of U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), U.S. Generally Accepted Auditing Standards (GAAS), and Public Company Accounting Oversight Board (PCAOB) standards 📚
• Strong Japanese language proficiency (both written and verbal), enabling effective communication with Japanese clients, expats, and colleagues 🇯🇵

Compensation & Benefits

The position offers an hourly rate of $40.86 - $47.12, eligible for overtime at time and a half. 💰
