Responsibilities

• Record transactions, prepare trial balances, and generate financial statements using accounting software 🧾
• Reconcile accounts and perform schedule computations (e.g., accruals, depreciation) 📊
• Maintain the general ledger and process accounts receivable/payable 🤝
• Prepare group consolidation packages and coordinate with tax return preparers 📁
• Perform audit and review procedures as assigned 🔍
• Prepare payroll, sales tax, business licenses, personal property tax, and 1099 filings 💼
• Assist with SOX/JSOX compliance and reporting to Japanese headquarters 🇯🇵
• Support internal and external audit engagements
• May supervise staff accountants and assist in planning and scheduling engagements 🗓️
• Ensure timely entry of time and expenses to support billing processes 🕒

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field 🎓
• Minimum of 4 years of experience in public accounting 🏢
• Current and valid CPA license, or pursuing it by passing the relevant state exam 📜
• Willingness and ability to travel to client locations ✈️
• Thorough knowledge of GAAP, Generally Accepted Auditing Standards, and PCAOB standards 📘
• Strong Japanese language skills, both written and verbal, to effectively communicate with Japanese clients and colleagues 🈹

Compensation & Benefits

Hourly rate: $40.86 - $47.12, eligible for overtime at time and a half time. 💵
