Responsibilities

• Record transactions, prepare trial balances, and generate financial statements using accounting software 📊
• Reconcile accounts and perform schedule computations (e.g., accruals, depreciation) ⚖️
• Maintain general ledger and process accounts receivable/accounts payable (AR/AP) 🧾
• Prepare group consolidation packages and coordinate with tax return preparers 📝
• Perform audit and review procedures as assigned 🔍
• Prepare payroll, sales tax, business license, personal property tax, and 1099 filings 💰
• Assist with SOX/JSOX compliance and reporting to Japanese headquarters 🇯🇵
• Support internal and external audit engagements 🛠️
• May supervise staff accountants and assist in planning and scheduling engagements 👥
• Ensure timely entry of time and expenses to support billing processes ⏱️

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field 🎓
• Minimum of 4 years' experience in public accounting 💼
• Current and valid CPA license, or working toward obtaining it (pass the applicable state CPA exam) 📝
• Ability to travel to assigned client locations ✈️
• Thorough knowledge of U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), Auditing Standards, and PCAOB standards 📚
• Strong Japanese proficiency, both written and verbal, for effective communication with Japanese clients, expats, and colleagues 🇯🇵

Compensation & Benefits

Hourly rate ranges from $40.86 to $47.12, with eligibility for overtime at time and a half. 💵
