Responsibilities

• Record transactions, prepare trial balances, and generate financial statements using accounting software 🧾
• Reconcile accounts and perform schedule computations (e.g., accruals, depreciation) 🔍
• Maintain general ledger and process Accounts Receivable/Accounts Payable 📊
• Prepare group consolidation packages and coordinate with tax return preparers 📁
• Perform audit and review procedures as assigned ✅
• Prepare payroll, sales tax, business license, personal property tax, and 1099 filings 💼
• Assist with SOX/JSOX compliance and reporting to Japanese headquarters 🌍
• Support internal and external audit engagements 🔎
• May supervise staff accountants and assist in planning and scheduling engagements 👥
• Ensure timely entry of time and expenses to support billing processes ⏱️

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field 🎓
• Minimum of 4 years of experience in public accounting 📈
• Current and valid CPA license or working toward obtaining it 📝
• Ability to travel to client locations ✈️
• Thorough knowledge of GAAP, GAAS, and PCAOB standards 📚
• Strong Japanese proficiency (written and verbal) to effectively communicate with Japanese clients, expats, and colleagues 🗣️🇯🇵

Compensation & Benefits

Hourly Rate: $40.86 - $47.12 per hour

Eligible for overtime at time and a half of the hourly rate 💵
