Responsibilities

• Record transactions, prepare trial balances, and generate financial statements using accounting software 🧾
• Reconcile accounts and perform schedule computations (e.g., accruals, depreciation) 💼
• Maintain the general ledger and process accounts receivable/accounts payable 🏦
• Prepare group consolidation packages and coordinate with tax return preparers 📊
• Perform audit and review procedures as assigned 🔍
• Prepare payroll, sales tax, business license, personal property tax, and 1099 filings 📝
• Assist with SOX/JSOX compliance and reporting to Japanese headquarters 🇯🇵
• Support internal and external audit engagements ✅
• May supervise staff accountants and assist in planning and scheduling engagements 👥
• Ensure timely entry of time and expenses to support billing processes ⏱️

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field 🎓
• Minimum of 4 years of experience in public accounting 🏢
• Current and valid CPA license or actively working toward obtaining it 📝
• The ability to travel to local client sites ✈️
• Thorough knowledge of US GAAP, US GAAS, and PCAOB standards 📚
• Strong proficiency in Japanese, both written and verbal, to effectively communicate with Japanese clients, expats, and colleagues 🎤

Additional Details

Compensation: $40.86 - $47.12 per hour, with eligibility for overtime at time and a half of the hourly rate.
