Responsibilities

• 💼 Record transactions, prepare trial balances, and generate financial statements using accounting software
• 🔍 Reconcile accounts and perform schedule computations (e.g., accruals, depreciation)
• 🗂️ Maintain general ledger and process accounts receivable/payable
• 🌐 Prepare group consolidation packages and coordinate with tax return preparers
• 📝 Perform audit and review procedures as assigned
• 💰 Prepare payroll, sales tax, business license, personal property tax, and 1099 filings
• 🧾 Assist with SOX/JSOX compliance and reporting to Japanese headquarters
• 🔎 Support internal and external audit engagements
• 👥 May supervise staff accountants and assist in planning/scheduling engagements
• ⏱️ Ensure timely entry of time and expenses to support billing processes

Qualifications

• 🎓 Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field
• 🧮 Minimum of 4 years of experience in public accounting
• 🎖️ Current and valid CPA license or working toward obtaining one by passing the applicable state CPA exam
• ✈️ Ability to travel to assigned client locations
• 📚 Thorough knowledge of US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
• 📊 Familiarity with US Generally Accepted Auditing Standards (GAAS) and PCAOB standards
• 🗣️ Strong Japanese proficiency, both written and verbal, to effectively communicate with Japanese clients, including expatriates, local employees, and colleagues

Compensation & Benefits

💵 Hourly wage ranging from $40.86 - $47.12, eligible for overtime at time and a half of the hourly rate.
