Overview

Responsibilities

• Record transactions, prepare trial balances, and generate financial statements using accounting software 🧾
• Reconcile accounts and perform schedule computations (e.g., accruals, depreciation) 💼
• Maintain general ledger and process accounts receivable/payable (AR/AP) 💰
• Prepare group consolidation packages and coordinate with tax return preparers 📊
• Perform audit and review procedures as assigned ✅
• Prepare payroll, sales tax, business license, personal property tax, and 1099 filings 📝
• Assist with SOX/JSOX compliance and reporting to Japanese headquarters 🌏
• Support internal and external audit engagements 🤝
• May supervise staff accountants and assist in planning/scheduling engagements 👥
• Ensure timely entry of time and expenses to support billing processes ⏱️

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field 🎓
• Minimum of 4 years of experience in public accounting 🧾
• Current and valid CPA license, or working towards obtaining it 📜
• Ability to travel to assigned client locations ✈️
• Thorough knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), Auditing Standards, and Public Company Accounting Oversight Board (PCAOB) standards 📚
• Strong Japanese proficiency—both written and verbal—to effectively communicate with Japanese clients, including expatriates and local colleagues 🗣️🌐

Compensation & Benefits

The role offers an hourly rate of $40.86 - $47.12, with eligibility for overtime pay at time and a half. 💵
