Responsibilities

• Record transactions, prepare trial balances, and generate financial statements using accounting software 🧾
• Reconcile accounts and perform schedule computations (e.g., accruals, depreciation) 🔍
• Maintain general ledger and process Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable 🏦
• Prepare group consolidation packages and coordinate with tax return preparers 📊
• Perform audit and review procedures as assigned ✅
• Prepare payroll, sales tax, business license, personal property tax, and 1099 filings 💼
• Assist with SOX/JSOX compliance and reporting to Japanese headquarters 🌏
• Support internal and external audit engagements 📝
• Potential supervision of staff accountants and assistance with planning and scheduling engagements 👥
• Ensure timely entry of time and expenses to support billing processes ⏰

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field 🎓
• Minimum of 4 years of experience in public accounting 🧑‍💼
• Current and valid CPA license, or actively working toward licensure by passing the relevant state CPA exam 📝
• Willingness and ability to travel to client locations ✈️
• Profound knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), US Auditing Standards, and PCAOB regulations 📚
• Strong proficiency in Japanese (both written and verbal) to communicate effectively with Japanese clients, expatriates, and colleagues 🗣️

Compensation & Benefits

The position offers an hourly wage of $40.86 - $47.12, with eligibility for overtime at time and a half. 💵
