Responsibilities

• Record transactions, prepare trial balances, and generate financial statements using accounting software 🧾
• Reconcile accounts and perform schedule computations (e.g., accruals, depreciation) 🔧
• Maintain the general ledger and process Accounts Receivable/Accounts Payable (AR/AP) 🗂️
• Prepare group consolidation packages and coordinate with tax return preparers 📊
• Perform audit and review procedures as assigned 🔍
• Prepare payroll, sales tax, business license, personal property tax, and 1099 filings 💼
• Assist with SOX/JSOX compliance and reporting to Japanese headquarters 🧾
• Support internal and external audit engagements 🤝
• May supervise staff accountants and assist in planning and scheduling engagements 👥
• Ensure timely entry of time and expenses to support billing processes ⏱️

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field 🎓
• At least 4 years of experience in public accounting 💼
• Holds a current and valid CPA license, or is working toward obtaining it by passing the applicable state CPA exam 📝
• Ability to travel to assigned client locations 🚗
• Thorough knowledge of US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), US Generally Accepted Auditing Standards (GAAS), and Public Company Accounting Oversight Board (PCAOB) standards 📚
• Strong Japanese proficiency, both written and verbal, to communicate effectively with Japanese clients, expatriates, and colleagues 🇯🇵

Compensation & Benefits

Hourly rate range: $40.86 - $47.12 per hour, eligible for overtime at time and a half. 💵
