Responsibilities

• Record transactions, prepare trial balances, and generate financial statements using accounting software 📊
• Reconcile accounts and perform schedule computations (e.g., accruals, depreciation) 💻
• Maintain the general ledger and process accounts receivable/payable 🧾
• Prepare group consolidation packages and coordinate with tax return preparers 📝
• Perform audit and review procedures as assigned 🔍
• Prepare payroll, sales tax, business license, personal property tax, and 1099 filings 💼
• Assist with SOX/JSOX compliance and reporting to Japanese headquarters 🇯🇵
• Support internal and external audit engagements ✅
• May supervise staff accountants and assist in planning and scheduling engagements 👥
• Ensure timely entry of time and expenses to support billing processes ⏱️

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field 🎓
• Minimum of 4 years of experience in public accounting 📅
• Current and valid CPA license, or actively working toward obtaining it through the applicable state CPA exam 📝
• Willingness and ability to travel to client locations ✈️
• Thorough knowledge of US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), US Generally Accepted Auditing Standards (GAAS), and Public Company Oversight Board standards 📚
• Strong proficiency in Japanese, both written and verbal, to effectively communicate with Japanese clients, expatriates, and colleagues 🇯🇵

Compensation & Benefits

Hourly rate ranging from $40.86 to $47.12, with eligibility for overtime at time-and-a-half of the hourly rate. 💰
