Responsibilities

• Record transactions, prepare trial balances, and generate financial statements using accounting software 🧾
• Reconcile accounts and perform schedule computations (e.g., accruals, depreciation) 🔍
• Maintain the general ledger and process Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable 🏦
• Prepare group consolidation packages and coordinate with tax return preparers 📊
• Perform audit and review procedures as assigned ✅
• Prepare payroll, sales tax, business license, personal property tax, and 1099 filings 💼
• Assist with SOX/JSOX compliance and reporting to Japanese headquarters 🌏
• Support internal and external audit engagements 🕵️‍♂️
• Potential supervision of staff accountants, including planning and scheduling engagements 👥
• Ensure timely entry of time and expenses to support billing processes ⏱️

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field 🎓
• Minimum of 4 years of experience in public accounting 📈
• Current and valid CPA license or actively working toward obtaining it (passing the applicable state CPA exam) 📝
• Ability to travel to client locations as needed ✈️
• Thorough knowledge of U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), U.S. Generally Accepted Auditing Standards (GAAS), and Public Company Accounting Oversight Board (PCAOB) standards 📚
• Strong Japanese language proficiency, both written and verbal — essential for effective communication with Japanese clients, expatriates, and colleagues 🇯🇵

Compensation & Benefits

The hourly rate ranges from $40.86 to $47.12, with eligibility for overtime pay at time and a half of the hourly rate. 💰
