Responsibilities

• Record transactions, prepare trial balances, and generate financial statements using accounting software 📊
• Reconcile accounts and perform schedule computations (e.g., accruals, depreciation) 💼
• Maintain general ledger and process accounts receivable/accounts payable 💰
• Prepare group consolidation packages and coordinate with tax return preparers 📋
• Perform audit and review procedures as assigned 🔍
• Prepare payroll, sales tax, business license, personal property tax, and 1099 filings 📝
• Assist with SOX/JSOX compliance and reporting to Japanese headquarters 🇯🇵
• Support internal and external audit engagements 🤝
• May supervise staff accountants and assist in planning and scheduling engagements 👥
• Ensure timely entry of time and expenses to support billing processes ⏱️

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field 🎓
• Minimum of 4 years of experience in public accounting 📅
• Current and valid CPA license, or pursuing licensure by passing the applicable state CPA exam 📜
• Ability to travel to client locations ✈️
• Thorough knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) in the US 🏛️
• Familiarity with US Generally Accepted Auditing Standards (GAAS) and the Public Company Accounting Oversight Board (PCAOB) standards 📖
• Strong Japanese proficiency, both written and verbal, to effectively communicate with Japanese clients, expats, and colleagues 🇯🇵

Compensation & Benefits

Hourly rate ranges from $40.86 - $47.12, with eligibility for overtime pay at time and a half ⏲️.
