Responsibilities

• 📊 Record transactions, prepare trial balances, and generate financial statements using accounting software
• 🔄 Reconcile accounts and perform schedule computations (e.g., accruals, depreciation)
• 🏦 Maintain the general ledger and process accounts receivable/accounts payable
• 🧾 Prepare group consolidation packages and coordinate with tax return preparers
• 📝 Perform audit and review procedures as assigned
• 💼 Prepare payroll, sales tax, business license, personal property tax, and 1099 filings
• 🔒 Assist with SOX/JSOX compliance and reporting to Japanese headquarters
• 🔍 Support internal and external audit engagements
• 👥 May supervise staff accountants and assist in planning and scheduling engagements
• 🕒 Ensure timely entry of time and expenses to support billing processes

Qualifications

• 🎓 Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field
• 🧮 Minimum of 4 years of experience in public accounting
• 📝 Holds a current and valid CPA license or is actively working toward obtaining it by passing the applicable state CPA exam
• ✈️ Ability to travel to assigned client locations
• 📚 In-depth knowledge of U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), Auditing Standards, and PCAOB standards
• 🇯🇵 Strong proficiency in Japanese (written and verbal) to effectively communicate with Japanese clients, including expatriates and local staff

Compensation & Benefits

🏆 Hourly rate range of $40.86 - $47.12, with eligibility for overtime pay at time-and-a-half.
