Responsibilities

• Record transactions, prepare trial balances, and generate financial statements using accounting software 🧾
• Reconcile accounts and perform schedule computations (e.g., accruals, depreciation) 📊
• Maintain general ledger and process accounts receivable/payable 🏦
• Prepare group consolidation packages and coordinate with tax return preparers 📁
• Perform audit and review procedures as assigned ✅
• Prepare payroll, sales tax, business licenses, personal property tax, and 1099 filings 💼
• Assist with SOX/JSOX compliance and reporting to Japanese headquarters 🌐
• Support internal and external audit engagements 🔍
• Potential supervision of staff accountants and assistance in planning and scheduling engagements 👥
• Ensure timely entry of time and expenses to support billing processes ⏱️

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field 🎓
• Minimum of 4 years of experience in public accounting 📅
• Current and valid CPA license or working towards obtaining one 📝
• Willingness and ability to travel to client locations ✈️
• Thorough knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) in the U.S. 🇺🇸
• Experience with U.S. Generally Accepted Auditing Standards and PCAOB standards ✅
• Strong Japanese language proficiency (written and spoken) to effectively communicate with Japanese clients, expatriates, and colleagues 🇯🇵

Compensation & Benefits

The position offers an average hourly rate of $40.86 - $47.12, with eligibility for overtime at time and a half. 💰
