Primary Responsibilities

• Transaction Recording: Record transactions, prepare trial balances, and generate financial statements using accounting software.
• Account Reconciliation: Reconcile accounts and perform schedule computations such as accruals and depreciation.
• Ledger Maintenance: Maintain the general ledger and process accounts receivable/payable.
• Financial Reporting: Prepare group consolidation packages and collaborate with tax return preparers.
• Audit & Review: Assist with audit and review procedures as assigned.
• Tax & Filing: Prepare payroll, sales tax, business licenses, personal property tax, and 1099 filings.
• Compliance Support: Assist with SOX/JSOX compliance and reporting to Japanese headquarters.
• Audit Engagements: Support internal and external audit engagements.
• Staff Supervision: May supervise staff accountants and assist in planning and scheduling engagements.
• Time Entry & Billing: Ensure timely entry of time and expenses to support billing processes.

Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field.
• Experience: Minimum of 4 years in public accounting.
• License: Current and valid CPA license or working toward obtaining it by passing the applicable state CPA exam.
• Travel: Ability to travel to assigned client locations.
• Knowledge: Strong understanding of US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), Auditing Standards, and PCAOB standards.
• Language Skills: Proficiency in Japanese, both written and verbal, to effectively communicate with Japanese clients, expats, and colleagues. 🗣️

Compensation & Benefits

This position offers an hourly wage of $40.86 - $47.12 with eligibility for overtime at time-and-a-half. 💵
