Responsibilities

• Record transactions, prepare trial balances, and generate financial statements using specialized accounting software 📊
• Reconcile accounts and perform schedule computations (e.g., accruals, depreciation) 💼
• Maintain the general ledger and process accounts receivable (AR) and accounts payable (AP) 🧾
• Prepare group consolidation packages and coordinate with tax return preparers 📝
• Perform audit and review procedures as assigned ✔️
• Prepare payroll, sales tax, business licenses, personal property tax, and 1099 filings 💵
• Assist with SOX/JSOX compliance and reporting to Japanese headquarters 🌏
• Support internal and external audit engagements 🔍
• May supervise staff accountants and assist in engagement planning and scheduling 🧑‍💼
• Ensure timely entry of time and expenses to support billing processes ⏱️

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field 🎓
• Minimum of 4 years of experience in public accounting 📅
• Hold a current and valid CPA license or be working toward obtaining it by passing the applicable state CPA exam 🎯
• Willingness and ability to travel to assigned client locations ✈️
• Thorough knowledge of U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and auditing standards 🧮
• Strong proficiency in Japanese (written and verbal) to effectively communicate with Japanese clients and colleagues 🇯🇵

Compensation & Benefits

Hourly rate ranges from $40.86 to $47.12, with eligibility for overtime at time and a half. 💸
