Responsibilities

• Record transactions, prepare trial balances, and generate financial statements using accounting software 🧾
• Reconcile accounts and perform schedule computations (e.g., accruals, depreciation) 🔍
• Maintain the general ledger and process accounts receivable/payable (AR/AP) 📊
• Prepare group consolidation packages and coordinate with tax return preparers 📄
• Perform audit and review procedures as assigned ✅
• Prepare payroll, sales tax, business license, personal property tax, and 1099 filings 💼
• Assist with SOX/JSOX compliance and reporting to Japanese headquarters 🏢
• Support internal and external audit engagements 🕵️‍♂️
• Potential supervision of staff accountants and assistance in planning and scheduling engagements 🧑‍💼
• Ensure timely entry of time and expenses to support billing processes 🕒

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field 🎓
• Minimum of 4 years of experience in public accounting 📈
• Valid CPA license, or working towards it by passing the applicable state CPA exam 📝
• Ability to travel to designated client locations ✈️
• Strong knowledge of U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), Auditing Standards, and PCAOB standards 📚
• Fluent Japanese, both written and verbal, to effectively communicate with Japanese clients, expatriates, and colleagues 🗣️

Compensation & Benefits

Hourly rate ranges from $40.86 to $47.12 and is eligible for overtime at time-and-a-half. 💰
