Position Overview
We Are Looking for an Audit Intern to Join Our Audit Services Team
This internship offers hands-on experience in financial statement audits, data analysis, and client engagement in a collaborative environment.
Responsibilities
- Team Collaboration: Play a pivotal role in conducting financial statement audits to ensure accuracy and reliability for capital markets, while maintaining objectivity and independence.
- Client Risk Assessment: Understand client-specific risks through reviewing financial results, external info, industry trends, and transactions—primarily for Korean clients or non-Korean companies requiring strategic support in Korea.
- Audit Documentation: Learn to prepare clear, structured audit documents reflecting client processes and technology systems.
- Control & Balance Testing: With guidance, execute and document tests of controls and account balances using appropriate standards.
- Quality Support: Assist in delivering high-quality audits through dedicated tasks and professional engagement with clients and team members.
- Data & Analytics: Support data extraction and analysis using tools like AI, Excel, Alteryx, SQL, Python, and Power BI; assist with documentation for audit procedures.
Qualifications
- Enrolled in a recognized college or university pursuing a Bachelor of Accountancy, Master of Accountancy, or an equivalent program.
- Awaiting or fulfilling educational requirements for CPA licensure in the state of the office location.
- Additional academic credits needed to graduate or meet CPA eligibility post-internship.
- Preferred GPA of 3.0 or above.
- Bilingual skills in English and Korean: Ability to communicate effectively in a business setting.
- Courses or minors in information systems, software engineering, computer science, or data analytics are a plus.
- Experience with data analysis tools such as Alteryx or Power BI is advantageous.
- Knowledge of technical accounting standards and GAAP.
- Proficiency in MS Office (especially Excel) and quick learner of KPMG audit tools.
- Strong communication, time management, relationship-building, and professional judgment skills.
- Reside within a reasonable commute to the office and capable of travel as needed.
- Expect to work primarily in-person, approximately three days per week, with some client travel and overnight stays.
