Queens Herald Church is looking for a passionate Associate Pastor to support and lead our Chinese ministries, with a specific focus on the Cantonese-speaking congregation. Position Overview 📝

• Title: Associate Chinese Ministry Pastor
• Classification: Full-time / Exempt
• Reports to: Chinese Ministry Lead Pastor
• Location: Fresh Meadows, NY
• Compensation & Benefits: $60,000 – $64,000 annually, plus competitive benefits

Role & Responsibilities 🎯

Ministry Responsibilities

• Preach and teach God's Word during Sunday services, according to the schedule set by the Lead Pastor
• Oversee Cantonese-speaking small groups, and train & disciple small group leaders
• Provide pastoral care through visitation and counseling for families and individuals
• Plan and develop outreach and evangelism ministries, including youth and college ministries
• Assist in expanding prayer ministries by training prayer leaders

Character & Spiritual Maturity

• Have a clear vocational calling into pastoral ministry
• Exhibit high moral character, integrity, and trustworthiness
• Demonstrate pastoral compassion, empathy, and wisdom
• Preach and teach sound theology and lead in prayer
• Maintain an intimate relationship with God, pursue spiritual growth, and uphold healthy family/marriage (if applicable)

Experience & Skills

• Bachelor of Divinity or equivalent with 3-5 years of pastoral experience
• Committed to gaining accreditation and licensing with the Christian & Missionary Alliance (C&MA)
• Excellent communication skills, fluent in Cantonese (spoken and written) and able to communicate in English; Mandarin skills are a plus
• Proven self-leadership capable of team leadership
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively
• Sensitivity to ethnic and multi-generational church needs

History & Growth 📖

Founded in 1989, QHC began as a ministry for Cantonese-speaking students from Hong Kong and China. Over the years, it evolved into a multi-generational church with both Cantonese and English speaking congregations, with the addition of a Mandarin-speaking church plant in 2015. Since 2020, our Cantonese and Mandarin services have been combined to foster unity, while small groups and classes continue to operate in native dialects.
