Description
The successful candidate will:
- Teach undergraduate courses in Old Testament and Hebrew
- Deliver courses such as Introduction to Old or New Testament
- Start the appointment in late July 2026

About the College of Christian Studies
The college offers three degree programs with diverse concentrations and minors:
- Bachelor of Arts in Christian Studies
- Bachelor of Christian Ministry (with five concentration options)
- Bachelor of Transformational Development (in partnership with UMHB's McLane College of Business)

Faculty Responsibilities 🧑🏫
All faculty members are expected to:
- Engage in exemplary teaching
- Participate in curriculum development and student advising
- Maintain professional growth and scholarly achievements
- Contribute service to the college, university, and community
While teaching is primary, UMHB recognizes and values research, publication, and scholarly activities.
Specific Responsibilities
- Demonstrate competence in Old Testament and Hebrew
- Teach at least half of your courses in support of the Core curriculum
- Deliver both online and classroom courses
- Typically teach 12 hours per semester with three courses preparations
Qualifications 🎓
- PhD from a regionally accredited university or seminary in Old Testament and Hebrew
- Excellent teaching and communication skills
- Dedicated to professional growth and quality improvement
- Collegial and team-oriented attitude
- Active, committed Christian, and Baptist membership in a local Baptist church
- Ministry experience is valued
- Agreement to the University's Employee Statement of Understanding
