Who We Want… 👩💻👨💻
- Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university, or a technical college, or a minimum of seven years of related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Proficiency in basic computer skills including word processing, spreadsheets, email, and AutoCAD applications. Knowledge of project-specific applications may be required.

Qualifications & Expectations
What We Expect…
- Review design proposal criteria and facilitate preparation of proposal documents for construction teams, subcontractors, and vendors.
- Research project design, codes, and regulatory requirements.
- Consult with clients to determine functional and spatial requirements for new structures or renovations, and prepare related design documentation.
- Prepare project layouts and integrate engineering elements for customer review and approval.
- Ensure quality assurance and quality control of design documents across all disciplines, reviewing work of technicians, sub-consultants, and subcontractors.
- Administer design contracts with clients and/or sub-consultants.
- Facilitate design reviews and present current documents for client approval.
- Coordinate design activities with clients and Gray AES sub-consultants.
- Lead schematic, design development, and construction document preparation; oversee construction administration.
- Develop project schedules and estimate A/E costs.
- Monitor design activities to ensure compliance with Gray AES standards.
- Manage administrative and financial aspects of design projects.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Physical Demands & Work Environment 🏢
The role involves frequent standing, walking, sitting, using hands and arms, reaching, talking, and hearing. Climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, and crouching are also required. The position requires lifting up to 25 lbs regularly and up to 100 lbs occasionally. Vision abilities needed include near and distant vision.
Work is typically in a moderate noise office environment with controlled temperature and humidity. Occasional exposure to outdoor weather, mechanical, electrical, and airborne hazards may occur, including high places and exposure to fumes, extreme temperatures, and vibrations. Overtime and travel may be required.
Supervisory Responsibilities 👥
May supervise 1 to 3 team members, such as Architectural Technicians and Assistant Design Managers. Responsibilities include training, planning, assigning, and directing work, performance appraisals, rewards, discipline, and conflict resolution, in accordance with organizational policies and laws.
