Yorktown Systems Group, Inc. (YSG) and The Unconventional (TU) are actively seeking qualified linguists to help meet current and future foreign language and linguistic demands. This opportunity encompasses interpretation, translation, transcription, and other Linguistic Support Services (LSS) for a diverse portfolio that includes government clients and commercial initiatives.

Key Responsibilities 📝

• Providing interpretation services in both in-person and virtual settings
• Translating written, electronic, audio, and video materials
• Reviewing and editing documents for accuracy and clarity
• Delivering foreign language instruction in classroom or online environments
• Supporting additional linguistic needs as they arise

Position Details

This is an open, evergreen requisition designed to support multiple current and future roles across YSG and TU. Candidates may be considered for various language support positions throughout our portfolio, regardless of specific client, project, or location.

Job Requirements 🎯

LSS Qualifications (Role-Dependent)

• Category I (CAT I):
  • ILR level 2+ proficiency in English
  • Can be locally hired, from outside the Area of Operations (AO), or a U.S. Citizen or third country national
  • No security clearance required initially; will undergo security vetting
• Category II (CAT II):
  • ILR level 2+ proficiency in English
  • U.S. Citizens with security clearance
  • Interim SECRET access possible under certain conditions
• Category III (CAT III):
  • ILR level 3 proficiency in English
  • Possess or be eligible for TOP SECRET / SCI clearance
  • U.S. Citizens only

Additional Requirements

• Experience providing foreign language instruction to adults
• Ability to produce idiomatic translations with proper syntax and expression
• Skill in consecutive interpretation of ongoing conversations
• Familiarity with and respect for local cultures and customs
• Willingness to work in challenging environments, including temporary facilities
• Capability to work efficiently under pressure and stress
• Strong teamwork skills among highly trained professionals
• Knowledge of specialized vocabulary in both languages related to government missions
• Fluency in both English and the foreign language, including regionalisms and colloquialisms
• Ability to interpret accurately without adding, omitting, or altering content
• Maintain the tone and register of source materials

Security Clearance & Location 🔒🌍

• CAT I: Local Nationals / Third-Country Nationals / Unscreened U.S. Citizens, passing a background check
• CAT II: U.S. Citizens with SECRET security clearance
• CAT III: U.S. Citizens with TOP SECRET/SCI clearance

This role offers remote work options as well as various CONUS (continental U.S.) locations. Some travel may be required based on project needs.
