Note: This role requires an active TS/SCI clearance with polygraph and involves overseas travel.

Position Overview

We are currently looking for a proficient Arabic Linguist capable of performing a broad spectrum of complex linguistic tasks with cultural insight. Your work will include translation, interpretation, transcription, and summarization to support intelligence missions.

What You'll Do

• Translation:
  • Accurately translate digital and hard copy materials between Arabic and English.
  • Capture nuances, cultural references, and geopolitical context.
  • Use appropriate terminology aligned with subject matter norms.
• Interpretation:
  • Provide consecutive interpretation; occasional simultaneous interpretation may be required.
  • Maintain high fidelity and fluency, understanding regional dialects and cultural nuances.
• Transcription:
  • Listen to audio and transcribe content accurately and efficiently.
  • Produce high-quality reports in English based on audio-visual materials.
  • Demonstrate understanding of dialectical variations.
• Gisting and Summarization:
  • Identify and summarize key facts and abstract concepts.
  • Extract critical information from large datasets.
  • Utilize reference materials to ensure quality output.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Active TS/SCI clearance with polygraph.
• Bachelor’s degree with 8–12 years of relevant experience OR Master’s degree with 6–10 years of experience. Additional years of experience may substitute for a degree.
• Minimum of 3+ years of recent translation and interpretation experience.
• Successful completion of a Leidos-administered or equivalent language proficiency test (Senior level or higher).
• Translation and/or interpretation degree is highly preferred.
• HLT or US immigration experience is a plus.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and online research tools.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills in both English and Arabic.
• Willingness to complete weapons training and support 24/7 travel requirements.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience supporting deployed contingency operations.
• Familiarity with U.S. Intelligence, military, or law enforcement environments.
• Ability to brief stakeholders effectively.
• Multilingual proficiency is advantageous.
