About the Role

Are you ready to leverage your language skills to support the Intelligence Community? At Leidos, you'll work with cutting-edge tools under strong leadership, contributing to projects that truly matter. This role requires an active TS/SCI clearance with polygraph and involves overseas travel.

Key Responsibilities

• Translation:
  • Translate materials (digital and hard copy) from Arabic to English and vice versa with cultural and contextual accuracy.
  • Capture subtle nuances, geopolitical, regional, ethnic, and cultural references.
  • Use subject-matter appropriate terminology and expressions.
• Interpretation:
  • Provide consecutive interpretation; occasional simultaneous interpretation may be required.
  • Maintain high fidelity and fluency, understanding regional dialects and cultural nuances.
• Transcription:
  • Listen to audio or review internet content, transcribing accurately and efficiently.
  • Create high-quality English reports based on audio/visual materials.
  • Apply understanding of dialectical variations.
• Gisting & Summarization:
  • Identify and summarize key facts and abstract concepts.
  • Prioritize and extract critical information from large datasets.
  • Utilize reference materials for quality assurance.

Qualifications

• Active TS/SCI clearance with polygraph is mandatory.
• Bachelor’s degree with 8–12 years of relevant experience or Master’s degree with 6–10 years of experience (additional years of experience may substitute for a degree).
• At least 3+ years of recent professional translation and interpretation experience.
• Must successfully pass a Leidos-administered language proficiency test or equivalent at the Senior level or higher.
• Translation/interpretation degree is highly desirable; HLT experience is a plus.
• U.S. immigration experience is highly desired.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and online research tools.
• Strong communication skills in both English and Arabic.
• Ability to complete weapons training successfully.
• Willingness to travel OCONUS and support the contract 24/7 during travel periods.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience supporting contingency operations as a deployed linguist.
• Familiarity with the U.S. Intelligence Community, military, and law enforcement environments.
• Ability to brief and communicate findings effectively to various stakeholders.
• Proficiency in multiple languages is a significant asset.
