About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Bilingual Linguist (Arabic/French) to support our mission-driven team. This position demands an expert capable of managing complex linguistic tasks with precision, cultural insight, and awareness. Travel overseas is expected, and Leidos will sponsor and upgrade security clearances for eligible candidates.

What You'll Do ✍️

• Translation
  • Translate digital and hard copy materials between Arabic, French, and English with accuracy.
  • Capture subtle nuances, cultural references, and abstract concepts.
  • Incorporate geopolitical, regional, ethnic, and cultural context appropriately.
  • Maintain subject matter language norms in translations.
• Interpretation
  • Provide consecutive interpretation; occasional simultaneous interpretation may be required.
  • Ensure high fidelity and fluency, demonstrating understanding of regional dialects and cultural context.
• Transcription
  • Listen to audio or review online content and transcribe accurately and efficiently.
  • Create high-quality English reports from audio/visual content.
  • Demonstrate understanding of dialectal variations.
• Gisting and Summarization
  • Identify and summarize key facts and abstract concepts with precision.
  • Extract critical information from large datasets.
  • Use reference materials effectively to ensure quality output.

Security Clearance 🔐

• No clearance required to apply.
• Must obtain a TS/SCI clearance with polygraph (fully adjudicated before work begins).
• Leidos will sponsor candidates after passing necessary language assessments.

Qualifications ✅

• Bachelor’s degree with 4 to 8 years of relevant experience OR Master’s degree with 2 to 6 years of experience. Additional experience may substitute for education.
• Translation and/or interpretation degree highly preferred.
• HLT experience is a plus.
• Pass the Leidos-administered language proficiency test or equivalent at the Primary level or higher.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and online research tools.

Preferred Qualifications ⭐

• Experience supporting contingency operations as a deployed linguist.
• Knowledge of the U.S. Intelligence Community, military, or law enforcement environments.
• Strong briefing and communication skills with various stakeholders.
• Multilingual abilities are a significant advantage.

Additional Information 📋

• Attending and passing all sponsor-related training is mandatory.
• Successful completion of medical, physical, and weapons training requirements.
• Overseas and domestic travel required; candidate must support the contract 24/7 during travel.
