The Opportunity 🚀
We are seeking a passionate Application Scientist in Clinical Genomics to join our commercial team. You will operate at the exciting crossroads of clinical genomics and bioinformatics, supporting our customers from initial engagement through platform onboarding and ongoing account management. Your role will be pivotal in delivering tailored solutions, identifying new growth opportunities, and shaping product development.

Role Responsibilities
- Pre-sales Support: Deliver expert demonstrations connecting clinical needs with VarSome Premium and Clinical. Manage customer evaluations, address variant analysis pain points, and advise on lab equipment and system integrations.
- Post-sales Support: Lead onboarding sessions for geneticists and bioinformaticians to ensure quick realization of platform value. Act as the main contact for on-premises and private cloud deployments, coordinating infrastructure details with clients and DevOps teams.
- Workflow Optimization & Support: Enhance filtering strategies and automation to maximize platform engagement, serving as a liaison between support teams and stakeholders for seamless daily operations.
- Scientific Advocacy: Collect feedback from power users to influence product development, and foster relationships for conference presentations (ESHG, MedTech) and technical white papers.
- Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with Product, Marketing, and Operations teams to ensure our offerings meet market needs and drive growth—translating features into clear benefits and influencing product priorities.

We seek a professional who combines deep clinical genomics expertise with a passion for data analysis and a commercial mindset. Your ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear benefits will engage both laboratory and clinical audiences.
What You Will Bring
- Education: Master’s or PhD in Human Genetics, Laboratory Medicine, Molecular Biology/Pathology, Life Sciences, or related fields.
- Experience: Hands-on expertise in clinical genomics workflows, including NGS library prep, sequencing, and secondary/tertiary analysis in clinical settings.
- Technical Skills: Solid understanding of variant classification frameworks and NGS workflows.
- Communication: Ability to convey complex concepts simply and effectively to clinicians, lab technicians, researchers, and IT specialists.
- Languages: Native Italian speaker; fluent English proficiency essential.
Strongly Valued
- Clinical Experience: Background interpreting NGS patient cases in hospital or private labs.
- Regulatory Knowledge: Familiarity with regulated environments such as IVDR, CLIA/CAP, or similar standards.
- Global Mindset: Experience working across multicultural environments or supporting international customers at scale.
