Role Overview 🎯
As a 2nd Level DevOps / IT Operations Engineer, you will play a vital role in operating and supporting a mission-critical Identity & Health Operations Center. Your primary focus will be on supporting approximately 30 hospital groups across Germany. The position involves regular office hours with participation in an on-call duty rotation. You will primarily work with ServiceNow as the central IT Service Management (ITSM) platform, collaborating closely with support, DevOps, and service management teams.
Key Responsibilities ⚙️
- Provide 2nd level support for complex incidents, service requests, and operational issues
- Handle incidents, problems, changes, and requests using ServiceNow as the ITSM platform
- Analyze, troubleshoot, and resolve issues across application, database, OS, and infrastructure layers
- Support identity and healthcare-related platforms in a regulated, high-availability environment
- Collaborate with support teams, DevOps, and engineering for seamless operations
- Ensure accurate ticket documentation, categorization, prioritization, and SLA adherence in ServiceNow
- Assist in DevOps activities and configuration management
- Contribute to the deployment, configuration, and continual improvement of the ServiceNow platform
- Participate in automation initiatives, including AI Operator / AIOps solutions
- Maintain system stability, availability, and performance during office hours and on-call shifts
- Develop and update operational documentation, runbooks, and knowledge articles in ServiceNow
Qualifications & Skills ✅
- 1-3 years of experience in IT Operations/Support (2nd level) within enterprise environments
- 1-3 years of hands-on experience with ServiceNow
- Proficiency in German (C1 level) and English (strong B2 level)
- 2-4 years of PostgreSQL database knowledge
- Strong fundamentals in Windows Server (IIS, Computer Management, Event Viewer)
- 2-4 years of experience with Linux servers, preferably RedHat

- ITIL Foundation certification
- Advanced ServiceNow skills (CMDB, Knowledge Management, Reporting, Automation)
- Experience with Jira
- Knowledge of DevOps practices (CI/CD, automation, configuration management)
- Experience in healthcare or other regulated sectors
- Interest or experience in AI-driven operations (AIOps)
- Basic networking concepts understanding
