Summary
The Bilingual Spanish Aide, under the supervision of the Programs for English Language Learners (ELLs) Supervisor and the direction of the principal or designee, assists with monitoring compliance for FTE, FLDOE, and USDOE programs. This role provides comprehensible instruction for English language learners, promotes parent involvement, and aids community outreach activities.

Responsibilities 🤝
- Participate in meetings and training on program maintenance, instructional strategies, compliance monitoring, parent involvement, and outreach activities.
- Assist in administering individual and group tests in heritage language or English under the supervision of a classroom teacher.
- Work with small groups of students, implementing lesson plans developed by teachers.
- Support the ELL Committee Chairperson, FTE Administrator, and ESOL Resource Teacher in maintaining all required program records.
- Assist in implementing instructional resources and accommodations to curriculum and assessments.
- Translate basic home/school communications for parents.
- Introduce parents to program personnel and available services.
- Collaborate with school and district staff to establish the Parent Leadership Council (PLC) and District Advisory Council (DAC).
- Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications & Requirements 🎓
- Experience: At least 1 year in education, child care, or a related field.
- Certificates/Licenses: Must be highly qualified per USDOE and Florida standards, meeting criteria such as an associate’s degree, 60 semester hours, or passing the ParaPro Test with a score of 457+.
- Language Skills: Ability to read, comprehend, and communicate effectively in English and heritage language.
- Mathematical Skills: Ability to perform basic math operations and measurements.
- Reasoning Ability: Ability to follow detailed instructions and solve problems with concrete variables.
- Computer Skills: Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite.
Physical Demands & Working Conditions 🚶♂️💻
- Activities: Standing, walking, sitting, handling, typing, talking, hearing.
- Lifting: Up to 55 pounds as needed.
- Reaching: Both hands, including overhead reaches.
- Environment: Moderate noise level (3 on a scale).

- Demonstrate mastery in oral language, reading, and writing via district screening.
