About The Role

As an AI Tutor specialized in multilingual audio capabilities, you will help refine Grok’s voice interactions, speech recognition, and auditory experiences across diverse languages, accents, and cultures. Your focus will be on curating and annotating high-quality audio data, improving Grok’s ability to handle multilingual audio nuances, and enabling natural spoken interactions worldwide.

Responsibilities

• Utilize proprietary software to label, annotate, record, and input data involving multilingual audio clips, speech samples, and auditory elements.
• Support the delivery of high-quality audio data that ensures clear, natural speech, capturing linguistic and prosodic details like intonation, rhythm, and accent.
• Collaborate with technical teams to develop tasks that enhance AI’s handling of speech modulation, accent variation, noise, and multilingual processing.
• Assist in improving annotation tools to streamline audio workflows.

Basic Qualifications

• Native proficiency in Italian, with exposure to diverse accents, dialects, or regional variations.
• Proficiency in English (minimum B2 level) with clear and natural pronunciation suitable for recordings.
• Strong auditory perception for nuances in speech, accents, pronunciation, and audio quality across languages.
• Experience in handling multilingual audio content, including evaluation of speech accuracy and cultural expressions.
• Ability to transcribe audio accurately across accents and varying audio qualities.
• Comfort with providing high-quality voice recordings and feedback in multiple languages.
• Excellent comprehension and independent judgment when assessing ambiguous or noisy audio samples.
• Exceptional communication, interpersonal, analytical, and organizational skills.
• Passion for developing AI with advanced multilingual audio capabilities.

Preferred Skills and Experience

• Strong attention to linguistic detail, auditory nuances, and data quality.
• Deep understanding of what constitutes good audio data.
• Advanced transcription and annotation skills, including handling disfluencies, prosody, and accents with high consistency.
• Background in linguistics, speech sciences, or related fields, or practical experience analyzing accent variation and multilingual speech.
• Experience working with speech/audio datasets, annotation workflows, and AI training data.
• Professional voice work, such as acting, recording, or podcasting, demonstrating clarity and quality.
• Ability to make independent, defensible annotation decisions in ambiguous scenarios.
• Portfolio (highly encouraged): samples of voice, annotated transcripts, or related work.
• Experience in voice, linguistics, speech data, or speech research is a plus.

Location and Other Expectations

• Roles may be full-time, part-time, or contractor-based, depending on needs.
• Contractors can set flexible hours, averaging around 10 hours per week, with no fixed commitments.
