Position Summary

The Admissions Recruiter will dedicate approximately 20 hours per week to engaging with prospective students via Zoom, phone, and in person. While supporting all graduate programs at HUC, this role primarily focuses on recruiting and supporting applicants to the Zelikow School of Jewish Nonprofit Management (Zschool). The recruiter will be an integral member of the Office of Recruitment and Admissions (ORA).

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Prospect Management

  • Conduct regular outreach and meetings with prospective Zschool students.
  • Assist Zschool leadership in guiding prospective students through their program discernment process.
  • Maintain detailed records of interactions, inputting data into ActiveCampaign and other systems, including notes from leadership and ambassadors.
  • Provide expertise on HUC’s curriculum, admissions policies, and procedures specific to Zschool.
  • Refer prospective students to relevant programs, fellowships, and courses to support their application process.
  • Connect students with Zschool mentors and alumni in the field.
  • Create informative communications and opportunities for prospective students to learn about Zschool.

Recruitment

  • Collaborate with Zschool leadership to develop and implement targeted recruitment strategies.
  • Engage with partner organizations, attend conferences, and participate in campus visits to build relationships and identify prospects.
  • Travel 2 to 4 times per semester (6–8 trips annually) for recruitment activities.
  • Coordinate recruitment events and programming with the Zschool Director.

Admissions

  • Work closely with the Zschool Director and ORA team to manage application and acceptance processes.
  • Conduct interviews, communicate decisions, and support admitted students through enrollment.

Supervision and Reporting

Supervised by the AVP of the Office of Recruitment and Admissions, the recruiter will regularly meet with Zschool leadership to strategize, support travel, and update on applicants. The role also involves participating in ORA team meetings and information sharing with fellow recruiters.

Compensation

This position offers a gross annual salary of $40,000 paid in semi-weekly installments, averaging 20 hours per week. Employment begins on July 1, 2025, and concludes on June 30, 2026.

Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Master’s degree in Nonprofit Management, Jewish Communal Service, Business, Public Administration, Communications, Social Work, or related field preferred

Experience

  • Minimum of two years working within the North American Jewish community as a Jewish professional
  • Experience in outreach, recruitment, or relationship management is preferred
