The New Jersey Judiciary, Burlington Vicinage, is looking for a proactive, organized professional with excellent communication skills to support court operations and community engagement.

Job Title: Court Support & Community Outreach Coordinator

We seek a self-starter who is detail-oriented, customer service-focused, and motivated to assist court users effectively. Reporting directly to the Court Executive 1b (Ombudsman), the successful candidate will manage the daily functions of the Burlington Vicinage Court Information and Resource Center (CIRC).

Candidates fluent in both Spanish and English are strongly preferred, reflecting our diverse community needs.

🖥️ Remote Work Opportunity

The Judiciary offers a hybrid work schedule, allowing up to 2 days of remote work per week outside Judiciary buildings. To participate, candidates must:

  • Install a multifactor authentication app on their device
  • Have high-speed home internet access

✨ Example of Duties

  • Assist court users by answering questions about forms, court processes, procedures, and case statuses
  • Provide referral information and support
  • Coordinate and participate in community outreach events, including preparing materials, correspondence, mailings, and event promotion
  • Organize courthouse tours and offsite visits
  • Facilitate forms completion assistance sessions for court users
  • Monitor and ensure compliance with established policies within the Center
  • Prepare technical, statistical, and evaluation reports on contacts, outreach activities, and user satisfaction surveys
  • Maintain, update, and manage informational materials at the CIRC and courthouse
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the Ombudsman

Note: Regular and predictable physical presence at the worksite is an essential function of this role.

🎓 Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university
  • Substitution options:
    • Additional paraprofessional and/or professional experience (1 year of experience = 30 semester hours)
    • Associate degree plus two years of relevant experience in lieu of a bachelor’s
    • Applicants nearing graduation may apply, with the understanding their degree must be completed before the start date
    • Degrees from outside the U.S. must be evaluated by a recognized service
  • Bilingual candidates: Must pass the NJ Civil Service Commission BICAT exam or demonstrate established bilingual proficiency
