Salary & Compensation 💰
The annual salary range for this position is:
- Schedule A: $52,593.71 to $86,166.03
- Schedule B: $52,593.71 to $81,857.73
New hires generally start at the minimum of the range. Current employees promoted or advanced in their career will see a 5% salary increase, not exceeding the maximum of the range. Employees hired before June 3, 2014, are considered Schedule A; those hired on or after are Schedule B.

Location: Monmouth Vicinage
Position: Administrative Specialist 2, Bilingual Spanish/English
This role provides vital support to the Office of the Ombudsman, requiring excellent communication skills, confidentiality, integrity, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team. The successful candidate will handle multiple assignments, manage their time effectively, and contribute positively to our professional environment.
Remote Work & Flexibility 🌐
This position offers a hybrid work schedule with up to 2 days of remote work outside of Judiciary buildings. To participate, candidates must install a multi-factor authentication app and have high-speed internet at home.
Primary Responsibilities & Duties 📋
- Responding to questions from judges, the public, clients, co-workers, and supervisors
- Drafting correspondence, reports, and proposals
- Explaining Judiciary policies and procedures
- Informing clients about available support programs and services
- Referring individuals to federal, state, county, or local agencies
- Reviewing and verifying client records and data accuracy
- Providing exceptional customer service to court users and internal clients
- Compiling and organizing records and written materials
- Assessing complaints and documenting information via interviews
- Developing manuals, guides, and multimedia materials
- Designing forms, newsletters, flyers, and brochures
- Creating data visualizations like flowcharts and graphs
- Collecting and maintaining records and tracking systems
- Recommending procedural and operational improvements
- Organizing meetings and community outreach events
- Supporting recruitment, diversity initiatives, and training programs
Qualifications & Requirements ✅
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university
- Experience substitution: 1 year of paraprofessional/professional experience = 30 semester credits; associate’s degree + 2 years experience can substitute for a bachelor’s
- Applicants nearing graduation may apply but must complete their degree by the start date
- Pass the Bilingual Communicative Ability Test (BICAT) or demonstrate bilingual proficiency (for bilingual variant)
- Evaluation of foreign degrees by recognized services if applicable

- Possession of a valid driver’s license is required if operating a vehicle for job duties
- U.S. citizenship is not mandatory; authorization to work in the U.S. is required
- New hires must pass a thorough background check, including fingerprinting
- In accordance with the "New Jersey First Act," new employees must establish and maintain residence in New Jersey within one year of hire, unless exempted
