Primary Function of Organizational Unit

The department offers:

• English M.A. and B.A. programs in English, Spanish, and Interdisciplinary Studies
• Minors in Spanish, German, Philosophy, Literature, and Writing
• Student clubs and honor societies including the Spanish Club, Ex Umbra literary magazine, and Eagle Creators Society
• Interdisciplinary initiatives such as Women’s and Gender Studies, Global Studies, Service Learning, undergraduate research, and Digital Humanities

Purpose of the Position

The successful candidate will:

• Teach Elementary German I and II courses
• Hold 4-8 office hours per week
• Prepare course materials and grade student assignments

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Proven ability to teach college-level German to English-speaking students
• Must hold a Master’s degree (M.A.) with at least 18 hours of graduate coursework in German
