Position Summary

Dominican University seeks a part-time Adjunct Faculty member to deliver courses in Italian for the Fall 2026 semester. The ideal candidate will possess excellent knowledge of Renaissance literature and culture, prior college-level teaching experience, and familiarity with online course management systems.

Adjunct faculty are contracted on a course-by-course basis and are responsible for instructional delivery and student learning in an asynchronous online format.

Course Assignment

This position involves teaching courses in an online asynchronous format, with duties including:

  • Delivering instruction aligned with the approved syllabus and learning outcomes
  • Preparing course materials and assessments suitable for the discipline
  • Submitting grades accurately and on schedule
  • Providing student support including scheduled online office hours
  • Responding to student inquiries promptly
  • Following university policies and accommodation procedures
  • Coordinating with the Department Chair regarding course and academic matters

Required Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Italian Studies
  • Proven academic or professional expertise relevant to the course subject

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with a learning management system (Canvas)
  • Relevant professional or applied experience in the field

Salary and FLSA Status 💼

  • Salary: $3,000 – $3,500 per 3-credit course
  • FLSA Status: Exempt, Part-Time (Adjunct Faculty)
