Work Schedule: To be determined based on business needs; classes may be scheduled during the day, evening, and/or weekends. Please indicate your availability during the application process.
Key Responsibilities
- Teach a full range of courses in Japanese language, literature, and culture 🌏
- Prepare and deliver engaging learning activities to meet course outcomes 📚
- Develop course materials such as syllabi, homework assignments, and handouts 📝
- Evaluate and grade student work, including classwork, labs, papers, and exams
- Maintain and submit attendance records, grades, and other documentation on time 🗂️
- Be accessible to students for coaching and support 🤝
- Attend periodic meetings regarding teaching duties, training, and professional development
Required Qualifications
- Master’s degree or higher in Japanese; or a related field with at least 18 graduate-level course hours in Japanese 🎓
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite or equivalent programs 💻
- Strong communication (verbal, written, interpersonal) and organizational skills 🗣️📋
- Sensitivity and responsiveness to a diverse student population 🌍
Preferred Qualifications
- PhD in Japanese
- Prior teaching experience at the college level

Compensation & Additional Notes
Pay rate: $942.00 per Equated Semester Unit (ESU) 💰
Employment is contingent upon satisfactory background checks and drug screening.
Note: This position requires residency in Ohio and proximity to the campus to respond to onsite demands. Candidates must be willing to commute as necessary.
