Position Description
The Hofstra College of Liberal Arts and Sciences invites applications for an adjunct position within the Political Science Department, specifically in the European Studies Program. The program promotes interdisciplinary understanding of Europe through the humanities and social sciences. The European Studies Program welcomes candidates with expertise in European thought and rabbinic literature.
The role involves teaching an undergraduate course titled Ancient Texts, European Minds: Interpretations of the Hebrew Bible Through the Ages. This course examines European biblical commentators from antiquity to the present day.
Responsibilities include:
- Teaching the course (3 hours per week)
- Providing at least one hour of additional student support per week
Qualifications
- Master’s degree or equivalent in Hebrew Bible and rabbinic literature
- Proven teaching experience
- Commitment to fostering an inclusive learning environment and supporting students from diverse backgrounds
