Tri-C Is Hiring An Adjunct Faculty Foreign Language

Job Responsibilities

As an adjunct faculty member, you will:

• Teach a comprehensive range of courses in Japanese language, literature, and culture.
• Prepare and deliver engaging learning activities to meet course outcomes.
• Develop course materials such as syllabi, homework assignments, and handouts.
• Evaluate and grade student work, including class activities, assignments, papers, and exams.
• Maintain and submit attendance records, grades, and other required documentation by deadlines.
• Be available to support students through coaching and mentorship.
• Participate in periodic meetings with supervisors, divisions, or college staff related to teaching, training, and professional development.

Required Qualifications

• Master's degree or higher in Japanese, or a related field with a minimum of 18 graduate-level course hours in Japanese.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite or equivalent tools.
• Strong communication skills—verbal, written, and interpersonal.
• Excellent organizational abilities and responsiveness to community needs.

Preferred Qualifications

• PhD in Japanese.
• Previous teaching experience.
