We are looking for a passionate and proactive Sales Account Executive to serve as a bridge between Japanese traditions and the global food industry through distribution and specialized education.
About the Role
As a Sales Account Executive, you will act as a liaison between our sales team and clients, ensuring exceptional customer satisfaction. Your excellent communication and negotiation skills will help facilitate sales from start to finish, contributing to increased sales and strong, lasting relationships with our clients.
Key Responsibilities
- Market Research: Identify selling opportunities and evaluate customer needs.
- Sales Prospecting: Seek out new sales opportunities via cold calling, networking, and social media.
- Client Meetings: Set up meetings, listen to client wishes, and address concerns.
- Presentations: Prepare and deliver tailored product and service presentations.
- Customer Service: Provide excellent service, greet customers, and manage requests, especially during peak times.
- Information Sharing: Educate clients on product features, pricing, and after-sales support.
- Pricing & Comparison: Conduct comparisons to assist purchasing decisions.
- Account Management: Manage existing customer accounts, A/R, and merchandise returns.
- Offers & Promotions: Keep customers informed about discounts and new products/services.
- Market Trends: Maintain product knowledge to increase sales based on market dynamics.
- Sales Analysis: Create reports with sales and financial data regularly.
- Inventory Coordination: Ensure stock availability for sales and demonstrations.
- Trade Representation: Participate in exhibitions or conferences representing our company.
- Deal Negotiation: Close deals, handle objections, and resolve complaints.
- Team Collaboration: Work with team members to achieve sales targets.
- Feedback Gathering: Collect customer feedback and share insights with internal teams.
- Order & Account Setup: Obtain orders, establish new accounts, and assist with documentation.
- Order Submission: Process orders using price lists and available products.
- Customer Relationships: Build and maintain long-term relationships.
- Troubleshooting: Address and resolve customer issues promptly.
- Sales Content Customization: Tailor presentations based on the sales outlet.
- Sales Quotas: Achieve weekly, monthly, and quarterly sales goals.
- Reporting: Keep management informed with activity and results reports.
- Expense Tracking: Monitor and record expenses like mileage and tolls.
- Additional Tasks: Perform any other related duties as needed.
Qualifications
- Proven Sales Experience: Prior experience as a Sales Executive or relevant role.
- Language Skills: Proficiency in English and Japanese (reading, writing, speaking).
- Technical Skills: Excellent knowledge of MS Office and CRM software (a plus).
- Industry Knowledge: Experience in the food and beverage sector, passionate about organic, fair trade, and sustainable foods.
- Customer Management: Ability to manage pricing, credit terms, and longstanding customer relationships.
- Marketing & Negotiation: Strong understanding of marketing tactics and negotiation techniques.
- Personal Attributes: Fast learner, results-driven, self-motivated, and skilled in developing engaging presentations.
- Educational Background: High school diploma or equivalent.
- Market/Cultural Insight: Experience with diverse markets and cultural considerations.
Physical Requirements
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Ability to lift up to 15 pounds occasionally.
