Account Assistant (Non-Exempt) 🎯
Join our team as an Account Assistant in the Employee Benefits division, supporting client services and administrative functions with growth opportunities in a dynamic environment.
Division & Reporting
- Division: Employee Benefits
- Report To: Manager
Location & Work Schedule
- Location: Torrance, California
- Work Arrangement: In-office for the first 3 months, then hybrid (2 days remote)
- Working Hours: 9 AM - 5 PM, Monday - Friday
- Breaks: 1-hour paid lunch
- Additional: Possible overtime on weekdays after 5 PM
Salary Range 💰
Annual salary between $45,000 and $60,000
Primary Job Duties ✨
- Assist Account Representative with daily client services, including claims, billing eligibility, and service issues
- Support renewal processes, enrollments, terminations, and COBRA administration
- Provide administrative support to Employee Benefit Manager and Account Representatives
- Prepare, format, and edit various documents
- Create and interpret a range of reports
- Organize market research activities
- Analyze questionnaires and feedback forms
- Maintain understanding of carrier product offerings and processes to ensure workflow efficiency
- Follow broker policies, review client policies, and maintain client files
- Ensure accuracy of data in the AMS360 administration system in a timely manner
- Assist with implementation activities for new and existing clients
- Support application completion and processing
- Prepare for and assist in open enrollment meetings and schedule appointments
- Collect forms, data, and schedules for regulatory compliance
- Perform general office duties
- Maintain the marketing database
- Handle multiple tasks efficiently in a deadline-driven environment
Requirements & Preferences 🚦
- Obtain CA Life & Health License within 3 months of start date
- College Degree or equivalent experience
- 1-3 years of office work experience with basic business understanding
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
- Experience with computers for diverse tasks
- Competency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook; willingness to learn Zywave, Employee Navigator, Applied Epic
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- Experience with Adobe Creative Cloud (Photoshop, Premiere) is a plus
- Business-level proficiency in Japanese and English (reading, writing, speaking)
- High attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively
