Role Overview

As an Artist & Repertoire (A&R) at Duetti, you will drive our mission to provide transparent and innovative financing options for artists. Based in the U.S., your primary focus will be on identifying and engaging artists and their teams across Japan, helping them understand how Duetti facilitates flexible catalog sales in exchange for significant cash buyouts. 💼💰

You will work closely with the Sourcing, Underwriting, Legal, and Management teams to bring deals to successful completion.

Sitting within Duetti’s Sourcing team, you will collaborate directly with the Head of Sourcing and colleagues across the company to expand our artist network in Tokyo and more broadly in the Japanese market. This role lies at the intersection of Music, Operations, and Data Analytics, allowing you to actively contribute to our goal of democratizing music catalog monetization on a global scale. 🌐🎼

You Will:

• Engage and identify new artists suitable for Duetti's unique financial solutions, developing a deep understanding of our offerings and competitive market landscape. 🔍
• Oversee all stages of the sales cycle, including prospecting, negotiating, onboarding, and closing deals. 🤝
• Create and implement strategic plans to generate new leads and penetrate the Tokyo and Japanese artist markets. 📈
• Nurture relationships with artists, songwriters, managers, and other industry stakeholders. 🎤
• Represent Duetti at industry events, showcases, and conferences, expanding our artist network. 🎟️
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless deal execution and integration. 🧩
• Utilize data analytics to identify opportunities and increase sales efficiency. 📊
• Stay informed about industry trends, competitor strategies, and emerging technologies in the music fintech space. 🔔

Requirements:

• 5+ years of experience in artist-facing roles at management companies, record labels, DSPs, publishers, or music finance companies, with a focus on the Japanese artist and songwriter community. 🎼
• A passion for the music industry and the ability to interpret deal structures creatively. 🎧
• Strong attention to detail, work ethic, and enthusiasm for startup environments that require self-starters and problem solvers. 💪
• Exceptional organizational skills and capacity to manage multiple deals simultaneously. 🗂️
• Ability to lead, collaborate, and work autonomously in a dynamic team setting with a positive attitude. 🤝
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration. 🗣️
• Bachelor's Degree in music, media, or related fields. 🎓
• Experience negotiating and executing publishing deals is a plus. 📜
• Fluent proficiency in Japanese and English. 🗾🇺🇸

Compensation:

$70,000 - $100,000 per year 💰
