Join our esteemed cruise line team as an Officer in Charge of an Engineering Watch for a contract initially lasting 3 months, with a flexibility of +/- 1 month. Ensure the smooth operation and maintenance of our vessel’s critical systems while upholding safety and environmental standards. 🚢
Roles & Responsibilities
Primary Duties
- Standing a watch as assigned by the Chief Engineer.
- Maintaining essential equipment including evaporators, reverse osmosis (RO) units, fuel and lube oil purifiers.
- Handling boiler systems and exhaust gas boiler maintenance.
- Managing air compressors.
- Operating and maintaining Oil Water Separators (OWS) and bilge pumps.
- Environmental management: Performing operation/maintenance of Marinefloc under direction of the Staff Chief Engineer.
- Record keeping: Making entries in the Oil Record Book with guidance from the Staff Chief Engineer and approval from the Chief Engineer.
- Documentation & Reporting: Keeping accurate records of work performed in NS5 and the daily engine workbook.
- Daily operations: Executing scheduled and unscheduled tasks assigned by the Staff Chief Engineer or Chief Engineer, and reporting these on NS5 and in the engine workbook.
- Safe operation: Ensuring all machinery functions correctly during watch.
Additional Responsibilities
- Overseeing all safety equipment, including lifeboat engine systems.
- Performing water analysis.
- Preparing and executing bunkering procedures.
- Monitoring consumption of fuel, lubricants, and chemicals.
- Emergency duties: Performing assigned tasks as per the Muster List.
