Job Description

We are looking for a Material Handler for our Camston Wrather site in Carlsbad, CA

The hourly rate for this position is $25.00 per hour.

Job Summary

The Materials Handler will transport materials, supplies, and finished products to designated locations.

Receives, distributes, and stores products as directed in designated, secure locations

Job Function

  • Prepares and maintains records of materials received and shipped including dates of transactions, locations, and other pertinent information.
  • Reviews and prepare shipments for quality and accuracy; reviews accompanying documents for accuracy.
  • Confirms shipping details or special instructions; expedites shipments that affect the manufacturing process schedule.
  • Transports and loads materials, supplies, and finished goods (manually and/or using hand trucks and skids).
  • Maintains equipment by notifying and reporting any damage or malfunction.
  • Be attentive to listen and respond to radio communication.
  • Troubleshooting mindset: When problems arise, resolves issues with contractors or vendors.
  • Conduct full inventory audits and Inventory cycle count as determined.
  • Fill out safety forms (Job safety Analysis, tailboards, lock out tag out, others), as needed
  • Daily pass down communication between shifts
  • Validates, approves, and forwards invoices to accounting department.
  • Collects and properly disposes of scrap bracing, cardboard, and strapping; maintains a safe and clean work environment.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Education and Experience - An equivalent combination of education, training and experience will be considered.

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; college coursework or other formal training in related field preferred.
  • At least two years of related experience required.
  • Minimum 2 years' experience driving forklifts, reach trucks, rider pallet jack, electrical pallet jack
  • 2 years experience with Inventory control; using ERP/MRP systems
  • 2 years experience with 5S's/work place organization and GMP's

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities - which may be representative, but not all-inclusive of those commonly associated with this position.

  • Detail oriented person with strong adherence to Safety, quality and efficiency targets determined in a hour by hour Warehouse environment
  • Basic mechanical knowledge using hand tools, such as a power drill, reciprocal saw, pliers and others.
  • Excellent verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Good math and written communication skills.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
  • Efficient time management skills.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish , a plus

Work Environment/ Environmental or atmospheric conditions commonly associated with the performance of the functions of this job.

  • Protective equipment such as coverall, hard hats, safety shoes, safety glasses, air masks, hearing protection, chemical suits, latex/nitrile long sleeve gloves, sleeve protectors, hot gloves and other equipment must be worn in the performance of some duties.
  • Work with hazardous materials may be required.
  • Although predominately indoors, may include working outdoors.

  • Must be able to lift up to 55 pounds at a time.
  • Must wear coverall, safety gear, such as goggles, gloves and respirators, when handling box cutters, sharp objects or dust material
