The Opportunity ✨

As a Virtual Access Manager, you'll have the chance to be part of a leading biotechnology company, working remotely to educate healthcare providers on pharmacy benefit coverage, prior authorization processes, payer policies, and affordability programs. You will act as a key resource in facilitating patient access and reimbursement, reporting directly to a National Manager.

Primary Responsibilities 📝

  • Engage healthcare providers and office staff to educate on treatment access, insurance approval, and reauthorization processes within the specialty pharmacy channel.
  • Educate staff on prior authorization, appeals, and submission procedures, providing high-level process information.
  • Proactively identify and resolve patient access and reimbursement issues within assigned regions.
  • Provide accurate process information utilizing PHI with proper patient consent.
  • Serve as reimbursement expert for patient support teams across assigned geographies/projects.
  • Use approved resources and call guides to educate and answer queries effectively.
  • Conduct payer policy reviews, contributing insights at local, regional, and national levels.
  • Manage accounts virtually, aligning with the Field Access Manager team for ongoing support.
  • Maintain detailed documentation to ensure compliance with policies and business rules.
  • Navigate CRM systems daily, internal processes, and team workflows.
  • Handle sensitive information with confidentiality, adhering to all relevant laws and policies.
  • Escalate issues appropriately to the Field Access Manager team.
  • Complete all required training and adhere to company policies and procedures.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities 🧠

  • Understanding of private and commercial payers and reimbursement processes.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with keen attention to detail.
  • Exceptional communication skills for engaging healthcare providers and staff.
  • Effective collaboration and team-oriented mindset.

Requirements 🎓

  • BS/BA degree.
  • Proven success operating in a virtual environment.
  • 3+ years of experience in reimbursement, patient access, market access, specialty pharmacy, or related fields.
  • Experience engaging HCP staff to educate on access pathways and product requirements.
  • Knowledge of payer reimbursement, preferably Medicare Part D.
  • Product launch experience is a plus.
  • Familiarity with specialty products through pharmacy networks.
  • Patient-centric approach with high emotional intelligence and empathy.
  • Excellent interpersonal, listening, and presentation skills.
  • Strong business acumen and organizational skills.
  • Enthusiasm and teamwork drive to achieve goals collaboratively.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Language proficiency: English required; Fluent in Spanish preferred.
